Our CHEF

Aung Pyae Sone
​aka Chef Kelvin

Chef Aung Pyae Sone alongside Stacey and Daniel Wharam bring vibrancy to the Del Ray, Alexandria neighborhood with Kaizen Tavern. Originally from Myanmar, Chef Kelvin came to the United States to pursue an education in California. It wasn't until life brought him to Pennsylvania where he started in the food industry working as a hand to sushi chef in a small restaurant. "I'm here to make sure our creations stay alive at all times." Chef Kelvin credits where he is in his career today to his friends and wonderful colleagues he's met in the industry.

KaiZen is a Japanese term meaning, "change for the better" or "continuous improvement".  KaiZen Tavern invites you
to come taste our new menu and seasonal cocktails! Brunch is served everyday along with our dinner menu.
